The opening of the new Wal-Mart in Mahoning Township has been delayed until Oct. 28.
The store had been scheduled to open Oct. 13.
Stephanie Austin, spokesperson for Wal-Mart, said construction delays are the reason the opening was pushed-back two weeks.
She said a formal statement will be issued later this week.
The new Wal-Mart, located off Route 443 at Frederick's Grove Road, will replace the existing store about a half mile away.
The present Wal-Mart was scheduled to be closed on Oct. 12. It will remain open until Oct. 27.
When the present Wal-Mart is closed, it will eventually be razed for a new Lowe's store.
No timetable has been announced for the Lowe's construction.
