Two men were injured just after 5 a.m. Thursday morning in a crash along Mauch Chunk Road in Palmerton. The driver apparently failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and struck a utility pole, which came to rest facing north in the west bound lane. The two had to be extricated from the wreckage by members of the Palmerton Fire Department and were treated at the scene for facial trauma by members of the Palmerton ambulance. Lehighton paramedics thenm transported to an area hospital. Palmerton police are investigating the incident.
