Amy Zubek weds Robert Miller Jr.

Amy Tristan Zubek, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Zubek of Summit Hill, became the bride of Robert Joseph Miller Jr., the son of Robert and Bonnie Miller of Tamaqua, on Aug. 21, 2010, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Summit Hill. The Rev. James Burdess officiated the double ring ceremony. Thomas McCall was the vocalist and Sally Ann Derby was the organist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Laura Kennedy of Hometown as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Gardiner-Walsh of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Jennifer Weikel of Lansford. The bride also chose two of her college friends, Amy Manwiller of Bernville, Pa. and Crystal Quillen of Stow, Ohio; and her cousin, Fenton Black of Lake Hauto to be readers.Robert Ford of Jim Thorpe served as the best man, while Christopher Conville of Nesquehoning served as the groomsman.Following the ceremony, the couple welcomed friends and family to a reception at Genetti's Inn and Suites in Hazleton. The couple then vacationed in Ocean City, Md., and will be honeymooning on a Hawaiian cruise in January.The new Mrs. Miller is a graduate of Panther Valley High School and Lebanon Valley College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in English communications, with a second major in digital communications. She is employed as a reporter with the TIMES NEWS in Lehighton, and as a car host and ticket agent at Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe.Mr. Miller is a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and Pennsylvania College of Technology, where he earned an associate of applied science degree in graphic communications technology. He is currently employed as the director of prepress operations at the TIMES NEWS, and serves as a member of the Carbon County Planning Commission.The couple also co-owns and operates Zubek-Miller Photography in Nesquehoning.They now reside in Nesquehoning.
