Authorities believe the body found along the Lehigh River near Bowmanstown Saturday evening is that of a missing Lehighton man. Jay Kershner, 43, of 223 N. First St., was reported last seen in the early morning hours of October 16 in the 200 block of North First Street. Lehighton police conducted a search of the area of the trestle which spans the Lehigh River north of Weissport but with no success. It was reported a person walking along the river in East Penn Township north of the bridge which carries SR895 over the Lehigh River discovered the body and notified authorities. State police at Lehighton are investigating.
