No butts about it

Students from Jim Thorpe and Weatherly, who are members of the TATU (Teens Against Tobacco Use) groups of Carbon County, conducted a cleanup of tobacco litter recently in Jim Thorpe. The students filled a tightly-packed gallon-size jar with cigarette butts gathered from the streets of downtown Jim Thorpe in just one hour. TATU members who participated are, from left, Jacqui Verhauz, Victoria Schrader, Taylor Smella, Brooke Tworkosky, Bridgette McFadden, Mike Kalage, Amber Cutler and Molly McFadden, with adviser Rebekah McFadden, who is also a school nurse in the Weatherly Area School District.
