The first of three rounds of competition to choose this year's Carbon County Idol was held Wednesday evening in the auditorium of Jim Thorpe Area High School with a field of 11 competing for the title.
Music and song filled the auditorium of Jim Thorpe Area High School as each contestant performed in turn for the assembled audience and panel of judges.
There were no eliminations last night, nor will there be any next week either.
Each contestant's scores for each week will be combined and the winner will be named on the final night of the competition on Wednesday, July 28th based partly on votes from the audience.
In addition to the title of "Carbon County Idol", the winner of the event's final competition will receive a prize of $250.
Judges Judy Romanisko, Jim Murdock, and Sherry Schafer will be joined for the next two evenings of competition by Angela Nardini.
Those two evenings when the Carbon County Idol 4 competition continues will be Wednesday, July 21st and Wednesday, July 28th.
The competitions will start on both evenings at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Jim Thorpe Area High School.
