Gerald Phillips seated during reorganization

Washington Township seated Gerald Phillips at its Monday reorganization meeting. He replaces former supervisor Abe Ahner.

Josh Friebolin was named as supervisor chaiman and Roy Dengler as vice chairman. Joann Ahner continues in her position as secretary-treasurer at a rate of $19.28 per hour and with $150 for each meeting attended.Keystone Consulting is the engineer. Nanovic Law Firm will continue as the solicitor. Chris Knoll is the sewage enforcement officer and dry well inspector. Joseph Bednarik and Darrin Martocci are SEO alternates.The solicitor at $90 and hour is John Ashley. Justin Yaich serves the triple positions of zoning officer, code enforcement officer and planning director.The emergency management coordinator is George Kern. The audit will be done by Bucko Lisicky and Co. at a cost not to exceed $8,000.Randi Bult was reappointed to the planning board and Walt Henne as a member of the zoning hearing board.Sally Mantz is the earned income tax collector and township clerk.Roadmasters will be Gerald Phillips and Roy Dengler with Tom Dengler serving as assistant roadmaster and chairman of the vacancy board.The three supervisors and secretary were named as delegates at the state convention in Hershey on April 18, with Dengler as the voting delegate and Friebolin as the alternate voting delegate.The mileage rate for use of a private car is 48.5 cents per mile.The street light assessment is $40.80 and the fire hydrant assessment is $31.22 - both are flat rates. The real estate millage rate is .7 of a mill - the same as in 2009.Roads to be improved are Rextown, Valley, Walnut, Oakwood, Ashfield, Deer, Christmas, Creek and Spur roads. The total is six miles and subject to change.Township meetings will be held the first Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., the zoning hearing board on the third Tuesday and the planning commission on the last Monday.
