A Tamaqua man was lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, following a domestic incident in the borough.

Officers were dispatched to 302 Orwigsburg St. at 3:45 a.m. Thursday for a reported domestic in progress. When they arrived they could hear a male yelling inside the home. The male was identified as Levi Warren, 26, of that address.According to the report, Warren came home from work hours earlier than expected. When his companion, Alysia Altif, 26, same address, called his employer to see if Warren had been fired, he became belligerent, arguing with her, then punching the walls. At one point he placed his hands around her neck and started to choke her. She was able to free herself and call police.Warren was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua. Bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.
