Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital in Lehighton and Good Samaritan Hospital in Pottsville have announced plans to establish an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance service for Carbon and Schuylkill Counties. Ambulance units, manned and equipped to provide pre-hospital emergency care, will be based at both hospitals. The ALS ambulance service will be established with a $336,500 grant provided by the Dorothy Rider Pool Health Care Trust.
