The Mahoning Township Lions Club is sponsoring an "Emergency Services Day" on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Normal Square Chapel Pavilion on Fritz Valley Rd in Lehighton.

Participating will be the Carbon County Sheriff Dwight Nothstein, Mahoning Township Police Department, Mahoning Valley Ambulance, Mahoning Township Fire Company, Blue Mountain Health System offering blood pressure screening, the Penn Starr helicopter will be landing on-site at 11 a.m., and there will be activities for the kids.This event gives the public a chance to be educated on the emergency services available to them as well to see the equipment that is used.
