A truck driver from Ohio made a wrong turn in Tamaqua Friday morning, snarling traffic at the Five Points intersection and damaging property at The Company Store building.

The trucker was headed south on SR309 (Railroad Street) at 7 a.m. and intended to make a left turn onto SR209. Instead, he made the wide turn onto Mauch Chunk Street, driving over the sidewalk on the east side of the street. The tractor rolled over a steel access door located in the sidewalk. The door buckled under the weight of the rig. The property is owned by TKT Miller Properties.Damage estimates were not readily available.
