Matthew Bender, chief of police in Lehighton, has issued his report for the month of October.

During the month, police responded to 451 calls.

There were 36 borough property checks and 55 business checks.

Police issued 25 traffic citations, including eight for exceeding maximum speed.

Eighty-seven parking tickets and 24 prohibited parking tickets were given out.There were six parking citations issued.

Police issued 33 warnings for alleged motor vehicle code violations.

There were 10 traffic accidents during the month: three involving injuries, five non injury crashes, and two hit and run accidents.

For code violations, there were eight complaints, with seven of them about dogs. One arrest, in regards to a dog complaint, was made.

There were 70 criminal offenses, with 29 arrests made including seven DUI arrests, five disorderly conduct citations, and four harassment citations.
