Four persons were injured Thursday morning when a Northampton Regional EMS ambulance and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of Blue Mountain Road and Wood Drive, in Lehigh Township, Northampton County. Township police said the crash occurred at 11:03 a.m. as Steve C. Bear, 33, of Northampton, was driving the ambulance and the Ford F150 pickup truck, driven by Bryan C. Snyder, 34, of Nazareth, collided at the intersection. Police said the ambulance was responding to a call in the 1400 block of Blue Mountain Drive and was utilizing its emergency lights and siren while northbound. Police said Snyder was traveling westbound on Wood Drive when the crash occurred. The ambulance struck the pickup truck broadside spinning it around and driving it through the intersection. The truck came to rest lodged between a large tree and a utility pole. The ambulance continued on before coming to rest facing north in the southbound lane. Bear and EMS personnel Maria Wesco, 43, and Melisssa Sutliff, 38, both of Northampton, were all taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of injuries. Snyder was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, police said. Township police said the investigation into the crash is continuing.
