Carbon County Treasurer Ronald J. Sheehan has announced that he has appointed a dog license agent for the Penn Forest Township area.
Effective immediately, Moyer Plumbing Supply and Hardware, 131 Smith Road, Route 903, Jim Thorpe, will be able to issue 2010 dog licenses.
Moyer Plumbing Supply and Hardware is the only agent located in Penn Forest Township. The store hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.
Sheehan reminds everyone that dog licenses are required by the Pennsylvania Dog Law for all dogs three months of age or older. Dog owners can obtain a license by visiting the county treasurer's office, located in the courthouse annex in Jim Thorpe; or by visiting any of the 13 dog license agents located throughout Carbon County.
Other agents include Bedrock Notary, Palmerton Borough Hall, and Joanne Nemeth, all in Palmerton; Panther Valley Lumber in Lansford; Lucky Break in Nesquehoning; Leslie Notary, Carbon Notary Express, and Marzen Feed and Hardware, all in Lehighton; Halo, Inc. in Weatherly; Dog Grooming Center in Beaver Meadows; Jim Thorpe Pet Center in Jim Thorpe; and Kidder Township Municipal Building in Lake Harmony.
