Gregory R. Bergman, 21, of Philadelphia, was arrested by state police at the Lehighton barracks with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following an incident at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort, Lower Towamensing Township, on Sunday at 5:50 p.m.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said they were summoned to the block 6 area of the resort for a reported assault incident. Police said Bergman approached a 12-year-old Bethlehem boy at the bottom of the ski slope, near the ski lift, to confront him about spraying snow from his skis at his friend. Police said it is alleged Bergman threw the boy to the ground and struck him in the face with a closed fist multiple times.

The Blue Mountain Ski Patrol called for police assistance and held Bergman in custody until officers arrived.

Police said the boy was treated at the scene for injuries he sustained and was released to his father.
