Garette Holloway, 7, and sister, Maggie Holloway, 11, stand beside their entries in the Dimmick Memorial Library Gingerbread House Contest. Garette's design uses a lighter-colored gingerbread sweetened with corn syrup while Maggie's achieved a darker hue by using molasses. Garette's design features a snow man, tree, jelly bean floor and Santa Claus in a chimney. Maggie's set is based on a zoo theme with candy animals, snakes, penguins, lions and crocodiles.
