The newly formed Young Professionals Council of the Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce will host a mixer from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Barley Creek Brewing Company in Tannersville.

Registration for this event is open now with admission ranging from the donation of a new or gently used book for a $5 donation.

Each donated book will benefit the Pocono Alliance’s Cops ‘N Kids Program, that aims to provide children with a greater appreciation for literature.

With a focus on professionalism, leadership and community service, the Young Professionals Council strives to provide those between the ages of 21 and 40 with plenty of networking opportunities as well as community projects that will better prepare them to become more engaged in their career of choice.
