Winter weather advisory: Snow and freezing rain Sunday

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Mixed precipitation is expected, with total snow and sleet accumulations of a coating up to 2 inches and ice accumulations of one tenth to one quarter of an inch expected.

Rain is expected to change to areas of freezing rain early Sunday morning and continue during Sunday, possibly mixing with sleet and changing back to plain rain in some areas. Any mixture of freezing rain, sleet and rain should change to snow before ending late Sunday afternoon and evening.

Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. Ice accumulations on trees and power lines could result in some downed tree limbs and local power outages.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery

roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
