Walnutport Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Adopted a resolution to apply for a $125,000 Monroe County local share grant for the purchase of a bandshell. The borough would budget $5,850.

• Tabled the adoption of the Green Street ordinance.

• Accepted the resignation of Bob Treskot as borough tax collector, effective Dec. 31, and approved a resolution to advertise for qualified candidates to send their proof of required certification to the borough office by no later than 3 p.m. Nov. 7.

• Approved the Walnutport Canal Association’s request for the borough to provide fire police during the Walnutport Canal Festival to be held Oct. 20-21.
