Tamaqua Police released details on two unrelated cases from December.

• A resident in the 400 block of Mauch Chunk Street contacted police on Dec. 18 after a package was stolen from her porch at 11:33 Dec. 14. A neighbor’s video surveillance system captured the thief in the act, and he was identified as Jose J. Estrada Claudio, 20, of Hazleton. He was charged with theft and receiving stolen property. The contents of the package were valued at $87.87.

• A 911 open line on Dec. 24 resulted in charges for Pedro Rafael Grullon Lora, 39, of Cedar Street, Tamaqua. The call went in to the Schuylkill County Communications Center at 2 a.m. Officers responded to the first block of Center Street and found Grullon Lora in a highly intoxicated state. He refused to go home and was placed under arrest and brought to the police station, where he remained in secure holding until he was sober.

He was cited for public drunkenness.
