Amy Miller
Reporter

Amy Miller has been a reporter with the Times News since 2006, but her story with the company started two years earlier when she served as an intern in the editorial department.

Following graduation from Lebanon Valley College, where she received a bachelor of arts in English communications with a secondary major in digital communications, she returned to her roots in the Carbon County area and let her passion for writing lead her into her journalism career. She picked up the Carbon County beat shortly after being hired and did a short stint covering Panther Valley School Board meetings, something she did during her intern days.

She also covers Nesquehoning borough events and council.

Over the last decade, she have covered everything from school functions to the Carbon County Senior Games and everything in between. Her passion falls in covering the accomplishments of individuals and especially in the SHINE program, which educates students about growing careers in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics; as well as telling people's stories as vividly as possible.

Some of her favorite types of stories to write include features about history and educational pieces on various health topics.
