Slatington library news

• Slatington Public Library, 650 Main St., Slatington, has a new website at www.slatingtonlibrary.org.

• The fall session of preschool story hour ended Dec. 11. The staff would like to thank volunteers Deb Barhight, Lynne Fedorcha and Hali Kuntz for another fun session. Preschool story hour will resume in the spring. The date has yet to be decided.

• The library’s book club is currently reading, “Nine Women, One Dress” by Jane L. Rosen. The club will meet at 1 p.m. Jan. 7 at the library.

• The library has two 10-year-old Brother black and white laser printers for sale, as is, best offer. We also have an Epson scanner, again at least 10 years old, that is up for grabs. Stop in and see them and make us an offer.

• The library needs a new board member from Walnutport. Anyone interested please contact the library.

• The local genealogy group meets at the library on the second Saturday of each month at 11 a.m. For information look up “Nextdoor.com.”

• The topic for the diabetes lecture for December is “Traveling with Diabetes” It will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 26 at Bechtel’s Pharmacy, which sponsors the diabetes series. Past lectures can be watched on YouTube through links from the library’s home page.

• The library takes donations of books. We do not take encyclopedias, National Geographic magazines or Reader’s Digest condensed books. There is always a book sale going on.

• Library hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday; and closed Thursday and Sunday.
