Schuylkill County hires part-time assistant district attorney

Schuylkill County has a new part-time assistant district attorney to replace one who has resigned.

David Noon of Ashland was hired at a salary of $31,454 to replace Julie Werdt of East Brunswick Township.

Werdt, whom District Attorney Michael A. O’Pake said resigned for personal reasons, earned the same salary.

Werdt’s resignation is effective Sept. 21; Noon starts his new job Sept. 24.

Other personnel moves were made in the Election Bureau.

Joseph Wood of Union Township was hired as an interim election technology coordinator at $18.68 an hour, effective Sept. 20. He was also transferred to the title of election technology coordinator at the same wage, effective Oct. 1.

Gerald Kuperavage of East Norwegian Township, resigned as election technology coordinator at $19.24 an hour, effective Sept. 28, and was hired as a per diem election technology coordinator at the same wage, effective Oct. 1.
