A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Schuylkill County on Jan. 3 and the driver fled the scene, but was later located.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at 12:15 a.m. along Minersville Street, in the area of Pine Alley, in Norwegian Township.

Troopers said a 25-year-old Pottsville man was struck as he walked along the road.

The driver then fled the scene.

The victim was not seriously injured and walked into Minersville, where he contacted borough police.

He was then transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, Pottsville, for treatment.

Troopers said the driver, who they declined to identify, was later located in the area of Darkwater Lane at Mount Laffee Road in the township.
