The Palmerton school board on Tuesday also approved:

Personnel moves

The board approved Joshua Gibbs as a full-time custodian at $40,141, Mark Benner as a part-time custodian at the rate of $13.03 per hour, and Chase Brown as a part-time custodian at a rate of $13.03 per hour.

Tom Heinick will serve as mentor for Laura Cressley, who was recently hired as a music teacher, for the second semester of the 2017- 18 school year and the first semester of the 2018-19 school year.

April Pilz was hired as a substitute instructional aide at a rate of $7.25 per hour and Patrick Crowley was added to the substitute list.

Budgets

The board approved the 2018-19 budgets for Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21, Carbon Career & Technical Institute and Lehigh Carbon Community College.

It also accepted the audit dated June 30, 2017, from Gorman and Associates Inc.

Gorman has a new three-year contract in the district for audit services through 2019-20. The audit fee is $21,500 for each of the three years.

Berkheimer Associates of Bangor was appointed as the delinquent tax collector of the 2017-18 school year per capita taxes effective Jan. 1, 2018.

The board approved a contract with Bayada Home Health Care Inc. for school nursing services, retroactive to July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2018.

Other items

The High School Environmental Club will take a field trip to the Washington, D.C., Zoo on May 11 following board approval Tuesday.

Other unanimous approvals included the Kalahari Resort — Pocono group rate day pass request and $200 deposit for the senior class outing, a contract with DJ Jimbo Entertainment for the St. Patrick’s Day Dance on March 17 to be paid from the high school student council at a cost of $500, rental agreement with Theatre World Backdrops for the drama club at a cost of $584.34 for the backdrop rental, a contract with Mainstreet Leasing for the Environmental Club field trip to Washington, D.C., in the amount of $1,789, and a donation from Aetna Foundation/Susan Jiminex in the amount of $120.
