Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Tuesday: Women’s Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.

Wednesday: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.

Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church, 580 Coal St., holds Sunday worship service with Pastor Jim Banks. It is a place for a fresh start with God.

Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. with nursery available; children’s Sunday school at 11 a.m.; fellowship following service.

Tuesday: Adult Bible study at 6:30 p.m., currently studying the book of Galatians.

Communion: Last Sunday of the month.

Trinity highlights

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. and includes “Harvest Home” observance. This is a time set aside in the fall for thankfulness for the bounties of the harvest. A donation of a nonperishable food item (such as canned fruit, tuna, jelly, pasta) is requested. All food items will remain at Trinity for distribution via the pantry. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists.

Coffeehouse fellowship follows in Luther Hall. Dedication of the newly installed handicap lift will be held at this time.

Sunday church school for students ages 3 through sixth grade is at 10:45 a.m.

For those desiring to arrange a baptismal date, Pastor Moore will share information Sunday at 1 p.m. For those desiring to seek membership at Trinity, Pastor Moore will provide information Sept. 30 at 1 p.m.
