Lehighton Borough Council

Lehighton Borough Council took the following action on Monday:

• Granted a time extension until March 31 for the subdivision/vacation plan and land development plan for Debra and Joseph Bennett at 60 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive East. The plans call for constructing a 6,114-square-foot building, a 3,200-square-foot dealership building; and parking areas.

• Approved the vacation of part of Penn Avenue, part of Jefferson Street, and all of Graver Street for the Bennett 443 project.

• Adopted a resolution setting the 2019 salaries for nonunion employees and professional staff.

• Adopted an ordinance vacating a portion of Lentz Avenue.

• Reappointed Brian Rubin to the water authority, Manny DaCosta and Jim Deebel to the sewer authority, Richard Zimmerman, Denise Murphy and Ricky Graver to the zoning hearing board, and Helen Torok to the Central Carbon Municipal Authority.

• Approved invoices to be paid before Dec. 31, with the list to be provided to council in January.
