Free car seat safety check

A free car seat check, sponsored by St. Luke’s Kid Zone and the Pennsylvania State Police will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 25 at WLSH/WMGH Radio Station on Route 209 in Lansford (across from the Panther Valley High School).

Results from previous car seat safety checks have shown that four out of five car seats are used incorrectly.

At the car seat check, trained technicians will educate participants on the proper way to install a car seat in their car and ensure that the child is properly restrained. In addition, they will answer questions about when you should turn your baby’s car seat around to face forward, why your car seat doesn’t fit tight in the car, if your car seat has been recalled, when you can take your child out of the car seat and more.

Having your child present is preferred, but not mandatory.

No appointment is necessary.
