Clearly Clean opens new West Mahanoy plant

Clearly Clean Products LLC, a recyclable food tray manufacturer, recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open its newly purchased 80,000-square-foot plant in West Mahanoy.

Clearly Clean has already hired 50 employees for this facility alone and is looking to hire more people for every shift. The company is also hiring for its plant in Orwigsburg.

Dignitaries addressing the audience of approximately 200 included U.S. Congressman Dan Meuser, PA Secretary of Community and Economic Development Dennis Davin, state Sen. David Argall, and state Rep. Jerry Knowles.

Neil Seldman and Robert Bylone, both national recycling experts, as well as Jeff Maguire, a managing partner of Clearly Clean, also spoke.

This plant, which brings Clearly Clean’s total number of locations to seven, manufactures the company’s patented 100% recyclable,smooth-edged Roll Over-Wrap trays and vacuum-sealed packaging trays as well as its patented, award-winning, recyclable modified atmosphere packaging trays.

Clearly Clean’s recyclable food trays can be utilized for meat, poultry, seafood, produce and deli.

“Clearly Clean is humbled by the number of people who attended our ribbon cutting!,” said Millard Wallace, a managing partner of Clearly Clean. “We are blessed to have grown significantly over the last year and are thankful that many of the people who assisted us in our growth were able to celebrate with us today.”

Numerous citywide and countywide bans on polystyrene (“Styrofoam”-type foamed plastics) — combined with consumer pressure and corporate commitment are fueling the demand for eco-friendly packaging and accelerating the sustainability timelines of many organizations.

Clearly Clean’s trays are made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic, the same material used in recyclable water bottles, offering a recyclable,smooth-edged tray option to grocery stores, food processors, and packaging distributors.
