Carbon County court

A White Haven man was sentenced in Carbon County court on Thursday to a county prison term on a charge of criminal trespass. Two other defendants were sentenced in driving under the influence cases. All previously entered guilty pleas to the charges.

Penn Forest incident

Zachary Ian Nauman

, 22, was sentenced to serve nine to one day less 24 months by Judge Steven R. Serfass on a criminal trespass charge. State police at Fern Ridge arrested him for an incident on Nov. 4, 2016, in Penn Forest Township. It was noted that Nauman has an extensive criminal record.

He told the court he has a long-term addiction problem. He is currently an inmate in the county prison and is facing additional charges in Luzerne County.

Serfass also ordered that he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use, make restitution for damages of $800, supply a DNA sample and render 100 hours of community service when paroled.

He was given credit for 90 days spent in prison to date on the charges.

DUI cases

Kevin Fisher,

54, of Parryville, was sentenced on two DUI charges.

On the first count, he was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300. On the second count, he was sentenced to serve five days to six months in prison. He was also ordered to pay total fines of $600, one-year license suspension on the second DUI and render a total of 50 hours of community service.

He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on Feb. 8.

Grant Lee Wolfe

, 43, of Palmerton, was sentenced to serve 90 days to 60 months in prison, pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use, make restitution of $88.40 to the borough of Palmerton and render 100 hours of community service.

He was arrested on June 14, 2017, along Route 248 by Palmerton police. A test revealed a 0.21 BAC.

On a summary motor vehicle code violation, he was fined $25 and costs.

He will begin the jail term at 6 p.m. on Feb. 11 and serve it on consecutive stints of Sunday to Friday.

The three defendants must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation and those charged with DUI, must follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
