Palmerton, Tamaqua and Northwestern all recorded wrestling victories on Wednesday.

WRESTLING

Palmerton-Northern Lehigh

Palmerton nabbed a close 39-31 win over Northern Lehigh in Colonial League action.

Palmerton got victories from Aidan Melber, Chris Lucykanish and Dennis Lombardi, while also benefiting from several Bulldog forfeits.

For Northern Lehigh, Trevor Amorim, Jason Hunter, Nathan Ellan, Brendan Smay and Dylan Smoyer all grabbed wins.

Pottsville continued its dominance in the Schuylkill League as it upended Lehighton, 52-20.

Despite the loss, the Tribe saw Brett Gasker, Lucas Sangiuliano, Richard Fronheiser and Mike Yeakel all grab wins.

Williams Valley defeated Panther Valley, 60-12, in Schuylkill League action.

Not a single bout was wrestled during the match as the winners collected 10 forfeits and the Panthers nabbed two. There were also a pair of double forfeits.

Northwestern recorded six falls on its way to a 45-31 Colonial League victory over Catasauqua.

Jake Dellicker, Ben Griffith, Mason Brensinger, Lucas Miller, Harrison Bernhard and Ryan Haverkamp all picked up pins for the Tigers.

Pleasant Valley dropped a 55-30 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference decision to powerful Bethlehem Catholic.

Leading the winners was Taliyah Medina with 18 points.

For the Bears, Cameron Caffrey led the way with 12 points.

Weatherly defeated Shenandoah Valley, 42-29.

The Wreckers were led in scoring by Tanner Hinkle with 14 points, while Owen Broskoskie added 10.

Marian-Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe defeated Marian, 62-48.

Jesyer Disanto led the Olympians with 13 points, while Evan Fikentscher and Joshua Sproill added 10 points apiece.

For Marian, Ian Mikita had eight points.

8TH GRADE

Weatherly-Shenandoah

Shenandoah Valley handed Weatherly a 42-14 loss.

The Wreckers got 10 points from Alex Ortiz.

Tamaqua-Lehighton

Tamaqua defeated Lehighton, 44-34.

Connor Dillon poured in a game-high 20 points for the Raiders.

Tamaqua-Mahanoy Area

Mahanoy Area defeated Tamaqua, 44-24.

Connor Dillon had 12 points to lead the Raiders.
