Bloomsburg University students receive professional experience grants

Bloomsburg University has announced the names of 153 Professional Experience Grant recipients for the 2019-20 academic year. Professional Experience Grants help students defray the cost of professional development activities and applied learning outside the realm of the academic classroom. Without these grants, students may be forced to decline opportunities such as national conference presentations, study abroad experiences, internships or independent research because of the substantial expenses that can accompany these experiences.

Local students receiving grants include:

• Benjamin Gipe of Orwigsburg, was awarded a grant to study abroad in Paris.

• Michael Lamberti of Kunkletown, was awarded a grant for a film/media internship.

• Sean Leshko of Tamaqua, was awarded a grant for a career field experience.

• Maria Martinez of Palmerton, was awarded a grant for an internship at a regional banking institution.
