State police at Frackville reported investigating a rear-end crash along Route 61 at an on-ramp from the Schuylkill Mall in Blythe Township.

Troopers said Kristina M. McCarthy, 19, of Mahanoy Plane was driving a 1993 Ford Taurus and was southbound on the ramp attempting to enter onto Route 61 when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2007 Ford Explorer operated by David L. Boyer, 33, of Ashland.Troopers said McCarthy sustained a minor injury and was taken to a Pottsville hospital for treatment. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.Boyer was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed, troopers added.
