A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Tuesday, March 18, for domestic assault.

State police at Frackville said a 59-year-old female from Melanie Manor, Ringtown, Union Township, reported that Manuel Velazquez, 41, of Ringtown, subjected her to physical contact at her residence. The incident occurred about 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18.Velazquez was placed under arrest for simple assault/domestic, and arraigned before District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville. He committed to the county jail in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $5,000 bail.
