The Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board conducted compliance checks in Carbon and Luzerne counties on Friday, March 21, between 4 p.m. and midnight.

A compliance check consists of the use of supervised underage buyers in an attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages. Six licensed establishments were checked with one found to be noncompliant - meaning they served the underage buyer alcoholic beverages.The following establishments were in compliance meaning they did not sell alcoholic beverages to the underage buyers: WGMOR Inc., trading as Sapore Restaurant, Lehighton; West End Saloon Inc., Palmerton Pizza and Restaurant Inc., and Blue Mountain Pub, all of Palmerton; and The Venture, of Hanover Township, Luzerne County.
