State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of batteries from a Monroe County location.

Troopers said the theft occurred along Anchorage Road in the area of the Ross Township Municipal Building.Unknown criminals removed batteries from a front end loader parked at that location. The loader is the property of Scott B. Southerton, 33, of Honesdale, Wayne County.The theft occurred sometime between March 24 at 4:30 p.m. and March 25 at 6 a.m.
