State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of money from a Schuylkill County nursing home.

Troopers said the incident occurred at the Schuylkill Center, 1000 Schuylkill Manor Road, in East Norwegian Township.Sometime between 8 p.m. March 9 and 8 a.m. March 10 unknown criminals entered the receptionist area and removed a bank bag from the bottom drawer of the credenza at the receptionist's desk. The bag contained about $250 in U.S. currency. The bag was described as a blue, old heavy bank bag and labeled "employee bag and guest meals."Troopers noted the facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
