August 8, 2001 Dave Parsons officially steps down as Lehighton's head football coach. Parsons, who guided the Indians to a 136-84-2 record and a district championship in 1987 during his 20 years in charge, was seeking a leave of absense to watch his son play football at Easton. Lehighton turns down the request since coaching positions need to be applied for every year. Despite leaving the Indians' program, Parsons accepts a position as defensive line coach at Muhlenberg College.
