Long Pond man faces child porn charges

Officers arrested James Lamie, 60, of Long Pond, Tunkhannock Township, on Jan. 26, and charged him with acts related to child pornography and engaging in sexually graphic conversations with minors on the website Tagged.com.

Between October 2016 and January 2017, detectives from the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney received numerous cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning an adult user contacting underage girls on Tagged.com and engaging in detailed and graphic conversations regarding sexual acts that he would like to perform on them. An investigation led to the address where Lamie resides.On Thursday evening, detectives with the District Attorney's Office and the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department arrived at Lamie's house with a search warrant. They encountered him outside on his driveway and entered the house with him. Inside, the officers found two laptops and four portable hard drives and discovered that Lamie's computer was actively logged into his Tagged.com account. Investigators found child pornography images on a portable hard drive.Lamie faces four felony charges including unlawful contact with a minor, obscene and sexual material; obscene and other sexual materials and performances; and sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography, and criminal use of a communication facility. He is also facing a misdemeanor charge of corruption of minors.Lamie was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Colleen Mancuso and placed in the Monroe County Correctional Facility on $20,000 bail. He is tentatively scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. Feb. 2 in front of Magisterial District Judge Richard Claypool.
