Mahoning Township Police Officer Joseph David is investigating an accident that took place about 2 p.m. Tuesday near Route 443 Auto Sales. Andrew Stocker, of Summit Hill, was stopped behind traffic in the eastbound lane making a left turn when his Dodge Stratus was hit in the rear by a Mercedes-Benz, driven by April Card, of Coaldale. Card told police officers that the brakes were not working when she tried to stop. She swerved the car, striking the rear of Stocker's car and the guide rail along the highway. Stocker was cited for not having proper registration. His car was drivable, while Card's vehicle was towed from the scene.
