Rutecky ran around to the driver's side and opened the door and grabbed the steering wheel, demanding that Mace get out of the vehicle.Mace then pulled away dragging Rutecky to the ground. Rutecky was not injured and immediately contacted police. The stolen truck was observed a short time later traveling west on Route 25 in Frailey Township by Tremont borough police.Tremont police followed the vehicle as it entered Interstate 81 northbound. The vehicle then exited I-80 at Highridge Park Boulevard. A Cass Township police unit then arrived to assist the Tremont officer. At this point the two officers activated the emergency lights and sirens on their vehicles but Mace refused to stop. The pursuit lasted about a mile before the officers were able to pull the truck to a stop. Mace was arrested without incident.Troopers charged Mace with two counts of robbery, and one count each of robbery of a motor vehicle, aggravated and simple assault, theft, receiving stolen property, driving under the influence, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, fleeing or attempting to elude police, and numerous other related summary offenses.Mace was arraigned before on-call District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $75,000 straight cash bail.
