State police at Lehighton are investigating a burglary at a Carbon County residence in which $5,000 worth of jewelry was reported stolen.

The break-in occurred at the residence of Elizabeth Bianchi, 65, of 63 Shad Blue Lane in Penn Forest Township. Forced entry was made to the front door and the jewelry was removed from a bedroom in the residence.The entry occurred sometime between 1 and 4 p.m. on April 15. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 610-377-4270.
