A Weatherly driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning along Route 309 in Hazle Township, in Luzerne County.
State police at Hazleton said the crash occurred at 10:45 a.m. as John Surochak, 82, of Weatherly, driving a 2011 Subaru Outback, attempted a left turn from 309 north onto Hazle Township Boulevard, and pulled into the path of a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Ronelle McLeod, 23, of St. Johns, Luzerne County.The front of the Subaru struck the passenger side of the Cavalier. The Subaru then rolled over onto its roof.A minor child in a safety seat in the Cavalier was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton, for evaluation, troopers said. No other injuries were reported.Troopers said Surochak was cited for causing the crash.
