A one-vehicle crash occurred about 9:20 p.m. on April 9 along Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Fred W. Lutz, 21, of Easton, was driving a 1995 Ford Aspire westbound and attempted to avoid a deer that had entered the road in front of him. His vehicle struck the deer, then traveled about 100 feet before coming to rest in the westbound lane.Lutz and his passenger, Spencer L. Zink, 23, of Bethlehem, were not injured. Damages were termed heavy to the front end of the Ford, which had to be towed from the scene.
