Marian picked up doubleheader sweeps in both baseball and softball while Palmerton recorded wins in baseball, softball and soccer to highlight Monday's scholastic sports action.

After reaching base on a bunt single, stealing second and moving to third on a ground out, the Fillies' Sam Faust stole home when Mahanoy Area lost track of the count. Thinking they had just recorded a strike out to end the inning (when in reality it was only strike two), the Golden Bears rolled the ball to the mound and began walking off the field. Faust then sprinted home for the game-winning run.Game two had more of a traditional ending and saw the Fillies win 5-4. Kayla Knight and Gabby Green each had two hits, while teammates Alexa Nemeth and Shannon Skotek each legged out doubles.Knight earned the win in both games.
