Climbed by many a neighborhood kid when they were much smaller, three large trees, which were at least 65 years old, have given way to open skies at St. John's Lutheran Church on North Street in Jim Thorpe. Their removal, by Day's Landscaping of Jim Thorpe, is just the first step in eventually installing new sidewalks in the future.
