The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its Third Annual Fishing Derby on Saturday, April 9, at the Rabbit Run Reservoir in New England Valley. Derby hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Last year's event was a huge success, with a lot of participation, " said Tom Banditelli, chairman of the chamber's fishing derby committee, who has organized the event. "We are looking forward to another fun family event at the beautiful Rabbit Run Reservoir. It's a great event for kids and adults alike," offered Banditeli.Hot food and refreshments will be prepared by the Owl Creek Reservoir Commission and will be available all day.Prizes will include a 3 day/2 night stay at Craiger's Resort in 1000 Islands, Canada, as well as Football Hall of Fame tickets, fishing rods, bicycles and more.Registration forms and rules are available at Tom's Auto and Marine on Greenwood Street; the chamber office at 114 W.
