One of the busiest offices in Carbon County government in the past couple of days has been the Carbon County Elections Office. That's because area residents aspiring to be candidates for local and county offices caused a steady flow into the office as the process of filing nominating petitions continued through Tuesday.

Yesterday was the final day for filing petitions. At the close of business, Director Lisa R. Dart reported 120 Democratic petitions and 83 Republican petitions were filed by persons seeking offices.Some of those filings were reported by the TIMES NEWS in the past several days.
