Two people are dead in a double homicide in Hazleton early Sunday.

Killed were Vladimir Ruiz, 22, and Juda Hope, 23, reportedly both from Hazleton.Ruiz reportedly was beaten and stabbed, while Hope appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds.The incident happened at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday on Green Street, between Lauren and Wyoming Streets.Arrested yesterday and charged in the incident was Angel G. Sanchez, 19, of North Wyoming Street, Hazleton.Also to face charges, but still not in custody, is Rodolfo A. Hiraldo-Perez, 24, of West Second Street, Hazleton.The affidavid states Sanchez allegedly punched, kicked, and stomped on the head, face, and body of Ruiz. It adds that Hiraldo-Perez then allegedly took a knife and stabbed Ruiz while he lay on the ground.Hope reportedly sustained gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead upon arrival by MedEvac helicopter at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.Luzerne County District Attorney Jackie Musto Carroll asked that anyone with information about the wherebouts of Hiraldo-Perez should contact Hazleton police at (570) 459-4950.She urged that Hiraldo-Perez should not be approached, but police should be contacted.Both Sanchez and Hiraldo-Perez are being charged with criminal homicide, criminal attempt to commit criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
