A Jim Thorpe mother coming home from work was greeted with a familiar "Hello, mom." The mother, Mrs. Joseph Michlovsky, knew it could be no one else but her son, Pfc. Richard Michlovsky, who was due to return from Vietnam but kept his arrival a surprise. Michlovsky spent over a year in the war zones of Saigon, Mekong Delta, and close to Hanoi. He will spend a 35-day furlough at home, and then will report to a missile base at Erie for further duty.
